About Course
Google Earth Pro is a tools for viewing geographical information of the earth – whether it is viewing climate information, analysing change over time, seeing the world the same way you’re used to seeing, or remembering routes taken while on vacation. In this course, you will learn all the basic and advanced capability of Google Earth Pro.
The course is divided into SIX parts;
- Introduction
- Use of basic tools
- Use of advanced tools for data extraction
- Application to highway engineering
- Application to water and irrigation engineering
- Application to structural engineering
The main chapter of this course is the application of Google Earth Pro to Engineering such as Highway, Water and Irrigation and some aspect of Structural Engineering.
Course Contents on Highway Engineering
- Define road alignment
- Road profile analysis
- Extracting route survey data
- Convert Latitude and Longtitude to Easting and Northing
- Importing Google Earth data to civil engineering softwares such as Civil3D, CivilCAD etc.
- Adding site images
Course Contents on Water and Irrigation Engineering
- Determination of catchment area for bridge, culvert, dam etc.
- Preliminary pipe layout – Setting reservoir location, pipe juction and pipe layout
- Exporting base file to EPANET
Course Contents on Structural Engineering
- 3D modeling of proposed structure on Google Earth Pro for environmental impact analysis
- Determination of site altitude and closest distance to sea – For wind analysis
- Grid survey for estate modeling.
